Hundreds of block clubs and neighborhood groups are planning National Night Out events across the city Tuesday night.
Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, the annual event is a time for neighbors to come out of their homes, meet and socialize. It is intended to strengthen community participation in neighborhoods, build ties with local law enforcement and raise awareness of efforts to combat crime and drug use.
To find event in your neighborhood, visit the National Night Out section of the city website and click on “Registered Events List.”
Last year Minneapolis ranked first in the nation among big cities for National Night Out participation. An estimated 62,000 people took part in 1,111 separate neighborhood events.
