A major chunk of Interstate 35W will be closed this weekend.
Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, all lanes of northbound I-35W will be shut down from Highway 62 to Downtown, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. All ramps on that stretch also will be closed. The 35th and 36th streets exit will remain shut down through September.
The lanes are expected to reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. Monday.
The suggested detour is to take Highway 62 west to Highway 100, go north to Interstate 394 and continue east to Interstate 94.
