Registration for the third annual Minneapolis Bike Tour opened July 17.
Up to 8,000 riders will tour the city’s Grand Rounds Byway System by bicycle Sunday, Sept. 20. Participants can choose between 14- and 37-mile routes on parkways and roadways that are closed to automobile traffic for the event.
The cost of the ride is less during the early registration period, which runs through Sept. 16. Registration continues until 8:30 a.m. the morning of the ride.
The tour is presented by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, a group that raises money to support parks projects.
Riders 18 years old or older pay $30 to pre-register for the tour or $40 the weekend of the event. Registration fees for riders aged 6–17 are $10 and $15. There is no registration fee for children 5 years old and younger.
