The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board continues its tour around the city tonight, heading Northeast for its first regular meeting of the month.
The board will convene at 6 p.m. at Bottineau Park field house, 2000 2nd St. NE, and the public is invited. A 5:30 p.m. tour of the park will precede the meeting, and a citizen input “listening session” is scheduled for a time-certain 6:30 p.m.
Through October, the board is holding the first meetings of each month at different neighborhood parks around the city. The second meetings of each month are still being held at the board’s West River Road headquarters.
Tonight’s meeting had been scheduled to start at the usual 5 p.m., but commissioners want to attend today’s 4 p.m. Charter Commission meeting. The commission will decide the fate of a charter amendment that would eliminate the independent Park Board.
Tonight’s board meeting will not be televised, but video should be available at www.minneapolisparks.org within the coming days.
