Electric Fetus hosts Giraffe Art + Utility, a local company that makes coasters and trivets, among other things, along with local performers Kill the Vultures and Toki Wright this Thursday for its July MinnEconomy event.
On its website, Giraffe labels its work “smart stuff that looks good.” In 2007, the company started collaborating with local artist Adam Turman to produce products featuring images of his artwork. To learn more about the company, visit longneckmammal.com.
The reception with Giraffe will feature food by the Craftsman Restaurant and beverages by Flat Earth Brewing. It starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by music by Kill the Vultures at 7 p.m. and Toki Wright at 7:30 p.m.
Electric Fetus’ new MinnEconomy initiative is a “shop-local” campaign designed to showcase local artists, food artisans and musicians. The music store at 2000 4th Ave. S. has a special section of the store devoted to the campaign and local artists.
