Parents meeting on future of autism program

Anthony program for autistic students faces cuts, parent says

Parent concern over potential cuts to the Anthony Middle School autism program led school officials to schedule a meeting Tuesday at the school.

Parent April Kennedy said the program had been successful in helping students with autism achieve academic success, and that it now faces staffing reductions. Staff and parents will discuss proposed changes at the meeting, which is open to interested community members, Kennedy said.

The meeting is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in room 102 at Anthony Middle School, 5757 Irving Ave. S.
