+ April 28, 1 a.m., 32nd Street West and Bryant Avenue South
A man robbed two people on their first date at gunpoint. The man pulled out a .38 caliber gun and demanded money from them, so one victim gave him his credit cards and a false PIN number. The suspect then fled going south on Aldrich Avenue.

May 4., 3:30 a.m., 3000 block of Lyndale Avenue South
Three men driving a stolen vehicle were pulled over and arrested. The first arrestee was booked for auto theft, the second for a warrant. The third arrestee was cited for motor vehicle tampering, then released.


May 2., between 2:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., 1000 block of West 36th Street
A suspect entered a house through an unlocked door. Belongings were taken from an office desk. The victim’s car keys and car, Minnesota license plate number UXN 128, were also stolen.


Between 12:30 p.m. on May 1 and 1:15 p.m. on May 2, 1700 block of West 61st Street
A 31-year-old man was the victim of identity fraud and harassment online. A suspect obtained the man’s picture, then told him he had posted it on under the “missed connections” category, a place for people “looking to reconnect.” The suspect also created an e-mail containing the man’s name in the address and verbally harassed him via e-mail.


April 30, between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., 3400 Blaisdell Avenue South

A suspect smashed a window, broke into a 44-year-old man’s home and stole a laptop. The laptop was sitting on a desk visible from the window.

May 4., 12 p.m., 10 Lake Street West

A man was cited for theft after being observed on security cameras at Kmart. The man attempted to steal $215 worth of video games by taking the games out of their boxes, then placing the empty containers back on the shelves.

May 1., 12:30 a.m., 34 Street West and Lyndale Avenue South
Officers responded to a report of assault. When they arrived, they found a man with a cut over his eye. The man said he was robbed. He was taken to HCMC by ambulance.


Between 7 p.m. May 1 and 6 p.m. May 2, 600 block of 54 Street West
Sometime during the night an unknown suspect climbed a fence to enter an outside storage area of a 60-year-old man’s house. Once inside the storage area, the suspect found a commercial-size air conditioner on the ground. The suspect broke parts off of the air conditioner that contained copper and aluminum and left with them.


April 29, 11:30 p.m., 2700 block of Stevens Avenue South
Two suspects saying they had guns demanded money from two men on the street. A pack of cigarettes and a wallet were stolen and the suspects hit both victims in the face. The suspects fled on mountain bikes going north on Stevens Avenue.

May 4, 8 p.m., 30 Lake Street West
A suspect entered Sullivan’s Supervalu, took items and left without paying. When an employee confronted the suspect, the suspect took out a knife, threatened him, and fled.

May 1., 1:15 a.m., 1 Franklin Avenue West
A 42-year-old man threatened a 23-year-old man with a knife. The 42-year-old was later apprehended by police and booked into Hennepin County Jail for second-degree assault.


April 28, 8 p.m., 5900 block of Nicollet Avenue South
An employee at Cub Foods caught another employee stealing four cans of beer and drinking them on the job. The man was issued a citizens arrest form and a citation for theft.

+ April 14, 1 a.m., Blaisdell Avenue South
A 56-year-old man told police he was robbed at gunpoint. The man said two suspects took his new pair of shoes he had inside a shopping bag. The man also said the suspects fled in a taxi.

April 18, 5:55 p.m., 3001 Hennepin Avenue South
The manager of Vision World told police he witnessed a man put a couple of pairs of glasses in his pants. When the manager approached the suspect, the man said he wanted the manager’s card. The manager told an employee to watch the man before the man ran out of the business.

April 19, 12:50 p.m., 3018 Lyndale Avenue South
A suspect stole a $500 shark-tooth fossil from ZRS Fossils & Gifts. The suspect was caught on video camera.

April 16, between 5 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., Knox Avenue South and Lake Street West
A 34-year-old man went for a run around Lake Calhoun and found his car broken into when he returned to it.
A window was shattered and the man told police his wallet and backpack were missing. Later on, the man’s bank called and told him someone tried to charge $1,000 on his card at Target.


Lowry Hill East

+ April 17, 11:45 p.m., 2200 Lyndale Avenue South
Police arrested a 24-year-old man for robbing several people near Lyndale Avenue.

April 20, between 4 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., 2200 Bryant Avenue South
A 27-year-old woman told police her car was stolen.


April 16, between 7 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., 3334 Blaisdell Avenue South
An unknown person broke into several laundry-room machines in the basement of an apartment building.
Police looked for evidence, but did not find any as the machines were being used. A resident told police the loss was around $30 and the machines were broken into within the past year.

April 20, 3 p.m., 10 Lake Street West
A 50-year-old man was arrested for trying to steal a television from Kmart.



+ April 18, 6:50 a.m., 51st Street West and Nicollet Avenue South
An 18-year-old woman struggled with a man trying to steal her purse at the intersection. The man threatened to kill her and ran away with her purse. A witness ran after the man, but lost sight of him.

West Calhoun

April 18, Between 12:06 a.m. and 2 a.m., Calhoun Park West and Lake Street West
Police arrested a 50-year-old man for breaking into cars near Lake Calhoun.


April 15, between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., 1 26th Street East
Two cars were broken into at the parking lot of the Black Forest Inn. Both cars had their windows broken while the owners ate in the restaurant. One car had a laptop stolen, but other valuables were left in the car. The other car had a briefcase stolen. 

April 16, 12:03 p.m., 2608 1st Avenue South
A 69-year-old woman told police she and a neighbor heard her car alarm go off. When the two went outside they found her car-ignition column punched in, but nothing was found missing. She notified police her car was still working.

April 18, 12 a.m., 501 Franklin Avenue West
A 23-year-old man told police his car had been broken into and his GPS and iPod transmitter were missing.

+ April 18, 1:50 a.m., 2725 Pleasant Avenue South
Police arrested a 27-year-old man for stabbing a man multiple times during a fight. The victim received medical treatment for his injuries.

April 20, between 8:15 a.m. and 10 a.m., 2710 Harriet Avenue South
A condo was broken into through an unlocked window. The residents said there were multiple items missing. Police checked for fingerprints.
