Committee weighing future of Lake Harriet concession goes online

Stakeholders in the future of the Lake Harriet concession can now track the work of a committee tasked with making recommendations about just that.

In a bid to make the process as open to neighbors as possible, the Lake Harriet Citizens’ Advisory Committee has launched its own social networking site, lakeharrietcac.ning.com. There, anyone will be able to track online discussions between committee members and read documents and meeting minutes.

The committee’s mission is to assess the scope of concession opportunities at Lake Harriet, the atmosphere of the band shell area and, if necessary, a design and site for a new structure. The committee first met in person on May 19 and has three other meetings scheduled: June 1, June 22 and July 13. Each will be held at 7 p.m. at the Linden Hills Recreation Center, 3100 W. 43rd St.
