Police arrest four suspected in Lowry Hill East robbery

Minneapolis police on April 8 arrested four juvenile males suspected of stealing a woman’s purse near Lyndale Avenue South and 29th Street, according to an alert police e-mailed to Lowry Hill East residents today.

The woman was walking in the area around 8 p.m. when the juveniles approached her, implied they had a gun, took her purse and ran, police said.

Multiple squads including one with a canine responded to the scene and set up a several-block perimeter, closing off an area near 26th Street and Colfax Avenue, and Lyndale Avenue. Three of the suspects were found in the area, arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. The fourth suspect was found and arrested later at his home.

Because they are juveniles, the names of the suspects were not released.

Police said a quick 911 call and good descriptions from the victim and witnesses helped lead to the arrests.
