Police notified Fulton residents March 18 of a suspicious man who followed two young girls home from school March 13.
The man followed an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl in a “beat-up” white hatchback after they left Lake Harriet Community School around 4 p.m., according to an e-mail alert Crime Prevention Specialist (CPS) Amy Lavender sent to area residents. The man followed the girls for three or four blocks, deliberately trying to cut them off at least twice.
At one point, he parked his car roughly 30 feet away from the girls as they stood at a corner for about 30 seconds. When the girls arrived at home, the man parked near 51st Street and Thomas Avenue before leaving the area.
The man never attempted to speak with the girls or approach them.
He was described as white, 20-40 years old, clean shaven with short brown hair.
