Organization uses art in work with abused children
LYNDALE — A silent auction of work by Twin Cities artists to raise money for Free Arts Minnesota is 7 p.m.–11 p.m. Saturday at Art of This Gallery, 3506 Nicollet Ave. S.
Free Arts Minnesota uses art in its work with abused, neglected or at-risk children and their families. The non-profit organization was founded in Los Angeles about 25 years ago and opened a Minneapolis branch in 1997.
Free Arts Minnesota volunteers help children express themselves through drawing, writing, music and other creative activities.
Local artists with work in the silent auction include: Amy Anderson, Kat Corrigan, Tara Costello, Jason Gillman, John Grider, Eddie Hamilton, Elizabeth Kimmel, Jamie Lang, Hugh Mann, Karen McPherson, Russ Olson, Susan Opitz, Nate Reiman and Wing Young Huie.
