Nov. 25, 12:31 p.m.
5900 block of Russell Avenue South
Cedar Valley Exteriors left shingles and roofing paper on the front lawn while repairing the roof. A man nearby saw the suspect get out of the passenger side of a small white four-door vehicle and take rolls of roofing paper. The suspect put them in the rear of the vehicle and fled from the scene. The man did not see the driver. He saw the license plate, but was not sure if he saw the correct number.
Nov. 26, 3 p.m.–Nov. 27, 10 a.m.
2400 block of Humboldt Avenue South
A man’s laptop, iPod and stereo were taken from his office inside an unattached carriage house on his property. There was no forced entry, and no evidence that could be processed at the scene.
+ Dec. 1, 1–1:04 p.m., 38th Street East & Nicollet Avenue South
A man attempted to leave a Metro Transit bus with a woman’s shopping bags. The woman confronted the man outside the bus. The man returned the bags, then punched the woman in the face, knocking her to the ground.

Nov. 25, 8:00 a.m.–Nov. 29, 3:30 p.m. 1000 block of Franklin Avenue West
A 27-year-old woman left an apartment key with a 31-year-old man while she went out of town. The man had two friends over while she was gone. When she returned home she discovered her video camera missing. She believed the two suspects took it to pawn for money.
Nov. 25, 10:31 p.m. 2400 block of Hennepin Avenue South
A 22-year-old woman was outside a local Walgreen’s smoking a cigarette. She saw a man run from the store carrying a basket of items. The woman yelled and two unknown bystanders grabbed the man and held him. The man did not pay for any of the items, totaling $102.88 in merchandise. The items were returned once the police arrived. Officers cited the man for theft and issued a trespass notice.
Nov. 29, 11:45 a.m.–12:10 p.m.
2900 block of Aldrich Avenue South
A man saw a 39-year-old man enter the underground parking area of a Blu Properties apartment building. He said the man entered behind a car that drove in. The first man called the manager, who called police to the scene. Officers found the second man in a restricted area of the garage. He may have been attempting to steal a refrigerator. He could give no legitimate reason for being in the building or the garage.

Nov. 25, 8:19–8:20 p.m.
2000 block of Nicollet Avenue South
An employee at a local Starbucks said a black man in his 40s stole the tip jar. The jar was in plain sight on the checkout counter by the register. After taking the jar, the man ran out the door and fled on a bike. The suspect wore a blue jacket, blue jeans, and a white stocking cap.
Nov. 25, 5–7 p.m.
3000 block of Ewing Avenue South
A 25-year-old man left his apartment at approximately 5 p.m. He left the door unlocked because a 43-year-old woman was inside. When the man returned at 7 p.m., he found the front door wide open. A flat-screen TV and the woman’s check card was missing. The woman had no suspect information — she had been sleeping the entire time. Officers conducted a canvas of the surrounding apartments, but results were negative. There was no physical evidence at the scene.

2600 block of Blaisdell Avenue South
A 36-year-old man fled police after officers were called to the apartment complex regarding a domestic issue. The man fought with police in the street, and tried to put an officer into a headlock. Police took the man to Hennepin County Medical Center before transferring him to Hennepin County Jail.

2900 block of Pillsbury Avenue South
A 30-year-old man fought with a group of Somali men outside his house. After a verbal argument, the Somalis assaulted the man. The man suffered a possible broken jaw and broken teeth from getting punched in the mouth. He declined to identify any possible suspects involved in the assault. An ambulance brought the man to the emergency room at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
