MCAD art sale tickets available

Annual art sale is Nov. 21–22

WHITTIER — Are you looking to decorate on a budget or pick up a few holiday presents for cheap?

Tickets are now available for the Minneapolis College of Art and Design [MCAD] Annual Art Sale Nov. 21–22. For sale are thousands of artworks created by MCAD students and alumni, many priced at $100 or less.
None of the items — which include paintings, drawings and sculpture, as well as furniture, clothing and even DVDs of student-produced animation — will cost more than $1,000.

Admission Nov. 21, a Friday, is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Admission Nov. 22 is complimentary.

MCAD reports total sales usually are about even for both days, although many of the big-ticket items are snatched up on the first night. The sale is 6 p.m.–9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday on the first and second floors of the college’s main building.

To purchase tickets, visit the MCAD website or call Tix.com at (800) 595-4849. Tickets also may be purchased in person at the Art Cellar in the Library and Liberal Arts Building at MCAD, 2501 Stevens Ave. S.
