There will be a free personal-safety workshop Thursday for Southwest residents, held partially in response to a recent spate of robberies.
The workshop’s at Washburn High school and runs from 7-9 p.m. It’s hosted by the Minneapolis Police Department and features instructions and advice from a self-defense expert.
At least three Southwest residents were robbed last month at gunpoint, two in Kingfield and one in Tangletown. A juvenile has been arrested and charged in connection with at least one of those robberies.
