Police release more information about hit-and-run death

Minneapolis police have announced the first break in the hit-and-run death of a St. Louis Park man biking in Southwest Minneapolis.

Jimmy Nisser was struck by a light brown or gold-flecked-tan Jeep Grand Cherokee, manufactured between 1996 and 1998, police said Monday. The Jeep likely sustained moderate damage to its right front end.

On Tuesday morning Sgt. Jesse Garcia said police have no new leads in the investigation, and continue to search for the driver and vehicle.

The 64-year-old Nisser, who had cerebral palsy and was unable to drive, was hit and killed instantly in the early morning of Sept. 11 while riding to his job at the Minikahda Club.

Police are still searching for the driver. Anyone with information should call the Minneapolis Police Department’s tip line at 612-692-8477 or Sgt. Chris Karakostas at 612-673-3400.
