EAST ISLES — Resident concerns about traffic in the East Isles neighborhood prompted a community meeting scheduled for 6:30–7:30 p.m. at Grace Trinity Church, 1430 W. 28th St.
The meeting, sponsored by Councilmember Ralph Remington [Ward 10], will focus on traffic speed and volume on Irving Avenue South. Members of the Public Works Department will be on hand to discuss the history of the avenue, listen to resident concerns and discuss potential solutions, Kim Malrick, Remington’s policy aide said.
Malrick said the goal of the meeting was to “hopefully formalize a work group of residents in the area” who would continue to work on possible traffic calming solutions.
“There’s been some suggestions thrown out and we’ll hear back from Public Works about what’s viable,” she said.
