CARAG
Sept. 6; 8 p.m.–Sept. 7, 5:53 a.m.; 3400 block of Dupont Avenue South
A vehicle stolen overnight from the above location was taken to 2512 Humboldt Ave. S. and torched. The car was locked and the victim had the vehicle’s only set of keys.
Windom
+ Sept. 6, 9–10 p.m., Blaisdell Avenue & Diamond Lake Road
A 20-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint with a black handgun, and lost his wallet and red cell phone.
Kingfield
Sept. 3, 7–9 a.m., 3800 block of Blaisdell Avenue South
Someone pried open a resident’s side garage door and stole two chainsaws. The resident works for Minneapolis Parks and Recreation, and later that morning he found out that a fellow employee had purchased one of his chainsaws for $20 from the suspect, who approached him at another location on a bike and was carrying a bag. The man recovered the saw from the employee.

Sept. 6, 10 p.m.–Sept. 7, 7:38 a.m., 5 block of East 38th Street
The glass on the front door of a business was shattered, and the owner told police that cell phones, clothing and watches were taken. The business had been open for about two-and-a-half weeks at the time of the incident.

Sept. 6, 1–2 p.m., 4300 block of Garfield Avenue South
While a resident was working in his backyard, an unknown suspect entered his house through the open front door and took items. Neighbors did not notice anything unusual that day, and the resident only noticed items missing at a later date.
Lowry Hill East
Sept. 4, 4:20–5:20 p.m., 2500 block of Emerson Avenue South
A resident kept the keys to his vehicle locked in the common area apartment mailbox. A suspect pried open the box, located the vehicle outside, and stole the vehicle.

Sept. 7, 1–8:30 a.m., 900 block of West Lake Street
An unknown suspect broke out the window of a storefront and took two pairs of men’s military boots on display.
Lowry Hill
+ Sept. 5, 3:35–3:40 a.m., 1900 block of Hennepin Avenue
An unknown number of suspects broke into an apartment and tied up the hands and feet of a man and woman, both age 28. The suspects stole items from the apartment, and the victims were not harmed during the incident.
Tangletown
Sept. 5, 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m., 100 block of West Elmwood Place
A suspect took approximately $600 in cash and five bottles of wine from a business. The owner said she recently hired the suspect on as a new employee.
Lyndale
Sept. 7, 9 p.m.–Sept. 8, 6:30 a.m., West 32nd Street & Pillsbury Avenue South
A man locked his bike to a tree. He later found the lock sliced and his bike missing, with a used children’s bike left in its place.

Sept. 4, 3:22–3:30 p.m., 5 block of West Lake Street
A patient at a medical clinic left her purse unattended in the lobby area, and the purse was later found empty. A 47-year-old woman was cited for the theft and released, and officers recovered the victim’s money.
Whittier
+ Sept. 6, 3:36–5:15 a.m., 2200 block of Pillsbury Avenue South
A 25-year-old woman pulled a fire alarm after she was assaulted. She was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center for a broken ankle.

+ Sept. 8, 10 p.m.–11:58 p.m., East 27th Street & Stevens Avenue South
A 34-year-old man was walking two women home from a bar when a man tackled him to the ground near the above location and demanded his wallet. The man fought with the suspect for a moment, and the suspect was able to take his wallet and cell phone.

+ Sept. 5, 8:40 p.m., 30 block of West Lake Street
A suspect took a 52-year-old woman’s purse with force.

Sept. 6, 10:16–10:20 a.m., 2600 block of Clinton Avenue South
Officers dispatched to a residential burglary alarm arrived to find that the front interior doorframe was splintered and had pry marks. Several doors were open, and it appeared that at least two second-floor bedrooms had been rummaged through. It is unknown if anything is missing. A neighbor saw a suspect at the front door of the above address walk southbound from the scene, and said the suspect didn’t appear to be carrying anything.

Sept. 5, 2:46–3 a.m., East 28th Street & Nicollet Avenue South
A 27-year-old man was booked into Hennepin County Jail for a narcotics charge and obstruction with force. A 28-year-old woman was tagged in lieu of arrest, and she was charged with driving after a license suspension. Both of their vehicles were towed to the Minneapolis Impound Lot.
Armatage
Sept. 7, 12:37 a.m., 5600 block of Xerxes Avenue South
Suspects fled on foot from a burglary. An Edina Police Department canine attempted to track the suspects.
East Isles
Sept. 3, 3:30–Sept. 4, 12 a.m., 1400 block of West Lake Street
A 67-year-old woman told police a suspect approached her in a store’s household department and asked her for advice concerning a product. The woman said the suspect might have taken her billfold; she realized it was missing when she went up to the counter.
