Electric Fetus gets political with sales, songs and sign-ups

For the next three days, call it the Electorate Fetus.

Volunteers from Rock the Vote and the League of Women Voters will be at the Electric Fetus from 2:30-6 p.m. today through Thursday. The independent record store has pledged to register 1,000 new voters.

Paired with the event will be several in-store performances, including music from Billy Bragg at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Chris Koza at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Romantica at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The microphone also will remain open for anyone wanting to talk about the importance of voting. Political candidates have been invited, according to a news release.

During the event, the 10 albums deemed by the Fetus to be the most important political albums of all time will be on sale, with a portion of the proceeds going toward Rock the Vote.
