Stevens Square

+Aug. 10, 11:58 p.m.,
1915 Clinton Ave. S.

A 28-year-old man was put in a choke hold, punched and then robbed. The victim declined medical attention.

Aug. 9, 10–11 p.m.,
1901 Stevens Ave. S.

A 32-year-old man told police he left his condo door unlocked while he went upstairs to the patio of his building. When he returned, his wallet, keys and laptop computer located just inside the door were missing.

Kingfield

+ Aug. 7, 9:30 p.m.,
Blaisdell Avenue & West 38th Street

Police said a 19-year-old man was robbed by five suspects.

Whittier

+Aug. 10, 2:10 a.m., 100 W. Lake St.

A 25-year-old woman told police that a man kicked her leg from behind and caused her to fall down, and then stole the food she had just bought. She was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.

+Aug. 6, 9:31 p.m.,
2400 Nicollet Ave. S.    

Officers were dispatched to McDonald’s for a report of robbery at gunpoint. Officers located the 37-year-old suspect and he was identified by one of the victims of the robbery.

+Aug. 7, 3 p.m.–Aug. 8, 8 p.m.; 2421 Lyndale Ave. S.

Unknown suspects entered a vacant home through a basement window and removed pieces of a mantle and a decorative glass window. The space was the site of a prior burglary in which suspects removed part of the fireplace mantle. The man who reported the incident said the suspects may have targeted the address because it was advertised for rent with a photo of the fireplace mantle on Craigslist.

Aug. 8, 6 p.m.–Aug. 9, 5:47 a.m.; 308 W. 22nd St.

A 55-year-old man told police his vehicle was missing from the
above location.

+Aug. 8, 8:30–9:30 a.m.,
2435 Pillsbury Ave. S.

A woman asked a 51-year-old man at the garden in front of his home if she could use his cell phone, and she walked away with it.

Lyndale

+Aug. 9, 11 p.m.,
3114 Pillsbury Ave. S.

A 33-year-old man told police that two men robbed him at gunpoint and struck him on the side of the head. He said the suspects left on bikes headed southbound in the alley.

+Aug. 11, 11p.m., 115 W. 31st St.

Officers conducted a narcotics investigation at the above address. The police recovered narcotics and arrested a 62-year-old man.

Aug. 7, 1–7 a.m., 3308 1st Ave. S.

Suspects entered an unlocked porch, took keys to a vehicle and stole the vehicle.

Aug. 7, 8:16 p.m., Harriet Avenue South & West Lake Street    

A 911 caller reported that a man in an old Dodge pickup was loading manhole rings into a vehicle at the above location, which is part of a construction zone.

Lowry Hill East

Aug. 8, 3:15 p.m.– Aug. 11, 7 a.m.; 2900 Aldrich Ave. S.

Company equipment was stolen from an unsecured condo construction site over the weekend. There was no security on duty for part of the weekend, and there was no sign of force at the site.

Windom

Aug. 6, 1:30 a.m., 140 W. 61st St.    An officer chased a man on foot who dropped part of a gun, jumped through the window of an unoccupied business and left out another window. Police identified the man prior to his fleeing.

East Calhoun

Aug. 5, 8–9:54 a.m.,
3213 E. Lake Calhoun Pkwy.

Dispatched officers found property stashed in a flowerbed that might have been taken in a burglary. A 76-year-old woman told police that suspects returned to the scene and were preparing to take the property, but she scared them away and recorded their license plate number before officers arrived. Police returned the stolen property to the above address, and the victim told police his garage door has been kicked in and two electric guitars were still missing.

CARAG

Aug. 10, 11:35 p.m.,
3046 Bryant Ave. S.

Police received a report of a burglary in process, and they arrived to confront a 52-year-old man who fled on foot. The man was apprehended several houses away, and he was booked in Hennepin County Jail.

East Isles

Aug. 10, 11 p.m.,
2865 Kenwood Isles Dr.

An unknown suspect took a bike from an open garage. The suspect also attempted to enter the house, but an alarm sounded.

East Harriet

Aug. 6, 5:40 p.m., West 41st Street & Bryant Avenue South

A 41-year-old man waiting for the bus left his duffle bag on the ground while he walked to his child who was playing nearby. A suspect riding a bicycle on the sidewalk picked up the duffle bag and continued riding down Bryant.

5th Precinct

Aug. 6, 1:41–2:15 p.m.

A 19-year-old man was selling subscriptions door-to-door and claiming that he was raising money for the University of Minnesota baseball team. Upon checking, it was discovered that the team does not raise money by selling subscriptions, and the man is not a student at the school. He was arrested Aug. 6.

An unknown suspect burglarized the home of a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man. The victims had very little, unspecified, information on the suspect.

East Calhoun

July 25, 6–6:55 p.m.,
W. 36th St. and Irving Ave.

A 38-year-old man parked his vehicle near Lake Calhoun while he went for a walk around the lake. When he returned, he found an unknown suspect had stolen the vehicle. The victim found broken glass on the ground in the area the vehicle had been parked. The victim’s wife had left her purse on the front passenger seat and it was taken during the car theft.


July 27, midnight–1:56 a.m., 3000 block of James Ave.

A 25-year-old woman parked her locked vehicle on the street in front of her house. A short time later, she noticed it had been stolen by an unknown suspect.

East Isles

July 27, 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Hennepin Ave and Lagoon Ave.

A 19-year-old man parked his vehicle in a parking lot but forgot his keys on the front passenger seat while at work. When he returned to the vehicle, he found that an unknown suspect had stolen the vehicle. The vehicle had been locked but the windows slightly cracked. The victim did not observe any broken glass on the ground near where the
vehicle had been parked.

Fulton

July 25, 4:45 a.m.,
5300 block of Beard Ave.

Police arrested an 18-year-old man and two juvenile males in connection to the robbery of a 47-year-old man. The man was booked at Hennepin County Jail on burglary charges and the two juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Detention Center on burglary charges.


Kingfield

Between July 24, 5 p.m., and
July 25, 8 p.m., 3800 block of Harriet Ave.

A 59-year-old woman parked her vehicle near her home on the street. The next day, the woman found an unknown suspect had stolen the vehicle. Officers responding to the theft observed broken glass near where the vehicle had been parked on what would have been the passenger-side window. The victim told police that the glass was not there when she parked it and believed it from was from her car.


Linden Hills

Between July 25, 8 p.m.,
and July 26, 7 a.m.,
3900 block of Xerxes Ave.

An unknown suspect(s) entered an unsecured front porch of a 50-year-old man and removed a metal candleholder. The suspect also punched holes in the two rear tires of the victim’s vehicle, causing both to go flat.

Lowry Hill East

July 25, 3:30–4 p.m.,
2600 block of Girard Ave.

A 24-year-old man left his laptop computer sitting on a windowsill, with an open window and behind a screen, in his bedroom. Sometime in the early morning and unknown suspect cut the window screen, reached through and stole the laptop.

W. 25th St. and Colfax Ave.

An unknown suspect robbed two 23-year-old men. The victims told police the suspect approached them with an undistinguishable weapon in a bag and demanded their money.


Lyndale

+ July 26, 11 p.m.,
3400 block of Nicollet Ave.

Police arrested two men, a 25-year-old and a 24-year-old, in connection to the robbery of a 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. The victims alleged that the two suspects took their cigarettes and demanded their wallets while threatening to stab them. Both men were booked at Hennepin County Jail on robbery charges.


Whittier

+ July 22, 4:15 a.m., 2600 block of Pillsbury Ave.

An unidentified number of suspects robbed a 58-year-old man. The suspects approached the victim and maced him before taking his wallet. The victim needed to receive medical treatment.


+ July 23, 10–11 p.m.,
W. 28th St. and Nicollet Ave.

An unknown suspect stabbed a 54-year-old man in the right side of his abdomen. The victim needed to be transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

+ July 25, 10:15 p.m.,
2700 block of Pillsbury Ave.

Police arrested two men, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, in connection to the robbery of a 27-year-old man. Both men were booked at Hennepin County Jail on aggravated robbery charges.

2200 block of 3rd Ave.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection to the assault and robbery of a 32-year-old man. The victim alleged that the suspect demanded money and maced him before the two engaged in fisticuffs. The man was booked at Hennepin County Jail on aggravated robbery charges.

Between July 26, 5 p.m., and July 27, 7:30 a.m.,2800 block of Pleasant Ave.

An unknown suspect burglarized the apartment of a 51-year-old man. The suspect is believed to have gained access to the apartment through an unlocked door and removed various items from inside.


Between July 27, 8 p.m., and July 28, 4 a.m., 2500 block of Pillsbury Ave.

An unknown suspect burglarized the apartment of a 55-year-old man. The apartment door had been forced open and various items removed from inside.

2800 block of Pillsbury Ave.

Police responded to the stabbing of an 18-year-old man. The victim needed to be transported to Hennepin County Jail for medical treatment.

Windom

+ July 28, 2:44–4 a.m., 5900 block of Nicollet Ave.

An unknown suspect shot two 22-year-old men and a 21-year-old man with a shotgun. Medical personnel responded to the shooting but the victims refused any treatment. Police reported that all three victims were extremely uncooperative with them and refused to give any information on the suspects.
