LINDEN HILLS — Chicago singer-songwriter Matthew Santos, a Southwest High School graduate, returns to his alma mater to meet with students and perform Wednesday afternoon, his publicist said.
Santos, 25, performs with his full band at The Cedar Cultural Center March 29, their first Minneapolis performance since a world tour with Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco. This spring, he heads out on the road with another Chicago hip-hop star, Kanye West.
Santos moved to Chicago from Minneapolis in 2001 to study music composition at Columbia College Chicago and has since released several albums.
His appearance at Southwest High School is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s auditorium. The event is open to all Minneapolis high school students. Admission is $2 with a high school ID or free for those who donate to the Southwest High School food drive.
