Audubon Minnesota, an organization working to protect natural the ecosystems of birds, will hold a global warming symposium called “Climate Change in Minnesota: What Next?” on Saturday from 9-12 p.m. at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church, 2020 W. Lake of the Isles Pkwy.
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar will speak about the latest green legislation in the state and her recent trip to Greenland. Additional presenters include KARE-TV meteorologist Sven Sundgaard, Barbara Freese, author of “Coal: A Human History,” and Clarence Lehman, a University of Minnesota professor who works with the Cedar Creek Natural History Area.
Attendees will learn about prairie carbon sequestration, cap and trade in the electric industry and other ways to reduce greenhouse gasses. The event is free and all are welcome.
