CARAG
Feb. 7, 12:45–3:15 p.m., 3000 block of Lyndale Ave.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man on burglary and damage to property charges. The suspect allegedly broke into the apartment of a deceased 41-year-old man and lived there for sometime. The deceased victim’s brother discovered the suspect living there and called police. The suspect explained he had been having issues with his spouse and needed a place to stay in the meantime. Officers at the scene found old food, beverages and other items strewn about and other damage to the property. The brother said that some items were missing. The suspect was taken to Hennepin County Jail.

+ Feb. 8, 3:50 p.m., W. 34th St. and Lyndale Ave.
An unknown suspect robbed a juvenile male. The victim had been walking home at the time of the robbery. Loss from the robbery was an unspecified amount of cash. The suspect did not have a weapon nor implied having one. The victim was uninjured from the strong-arm robbery and declined all medical attention.

East Calhoun
Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m., 1400 block of W. Lake St.

A 48-year-old woman was shopping in a local store when an unknown suspect approached her and began asking questions. After the suspect walked away, the victim noticed that her wallet was missing from out of her purse and believes the suspect removed the wallet while they talked.

East Harriet
Feb. 1, 9 a.m.–10:03 p.m., 4300 block of Bryant Ave.

An unknown suspect(s) burglarized the apartment of a 33-year-old woman. The suspect(s) used force to enter the victim’s apartment. Other apartments in the complex showed signs of attempted forced entry and the apartment of a 28-year man also had been burglarized.

Feb. 7, 8 a.m.–noon, 3600 block of Bryant Ave.

An unknown suspect(s) burglarized seven apartments located at the above address. Police arrived and processed the scene and were able to recover fingerprints from multiple items throughout the apartment complex. The victims were not home during the burglaries. It appears a long screwdriver was used on and around the deadbolts of the victim’s doors in order to gain access.

Fulton
Jan. 31, 2:58–4:55 a.m., W. 52nd St. and Xerxes Ave.

A police officer responded to a call about a car in a snow bank and two people involved in an argument. Shortly after, a call was made by a 21-year-old woman claiming to be the driver and she needed assistance from police. After making contact with the woman, the officer determined she was under the influence of alcohol and placed her under arrest. The officer administered a Breathalyzer test on the suspect and while escorting her to the squad car, the suspect spit on the officer. Drug paraphernalia was also recovered from the victim during a search. The suspect was taken to Hennepin County Jail and charged with assaulting a police officer, narcotics violations and driving while intoxicated.

Kingfield
Jan. 30, 7–8 p.m., W. 45th St. and Blaisdell Ave.

Officers responded to a call regarding suspicious vehicle activity. Three vehicles were stopped. Two of the occupants, a 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were arrested on felony narcotics violations and taken to Hennepin County Jail. Three other occupants, a 48-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, were given tickets for allegedly loitering with the intent to distribute narcotics and released at the scene.

Feb. 3, 2 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 3600 block of Grand Ave.

An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 25-year-old woman. The victim had been home and asleep during the incident. The items taken included the victim’s purse and rent money. Officers were unable to retrieve any usable evidence at the scene.

Feb. 7, 7 a.m.–8:10 p.m., 4200 block of 1st Ave.

An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 29-year-old man. The victim had been away from the home at the time of the burglary.

Lowry Hill East
Feb. 3, 12:52¬–1:10 a.m., W. Franklin Ave. and Lyndale Ave.

A police officer observed two suspects, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, engaged in a narcotics exchange. When the officer made contact with the first suspect he ran off, but after a foot chase, officers were able to apprehend. Crack cocaine was recovered from the two suspects. Both were transported and booked at Hennepin County Jail for felony narcotics violations.

Feb. 8, 11:18 p.m., Franklin Ave. and Lyndale Ave.

A police officer conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by a 21-year-old man. The driver was found to be in violation of a rental agreement with a car rental company. During the officer’s search, an unidentified amount of marijuana was located inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to Hennepin County Jail and charged with a felony narcotics violation.

Lyndale
Feb. 8, 7:53 p.m., W. 32nd St. and Blaisdell Ave.

Police arrested two suspects, a 48-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman. The female suspect was charged with a felony narcotics violation and an outstanding gross misdemeanor warrant. The male suspect was charged with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Both suspects were transported to Hennepin County Jail and booked.

+ Feb. 10, 2:50 p.m., 3500 block of Nicollet Ave.

Two unknown suspects robbed a 22-year-old man as he walked down the sidewalk. The suspects stopped the victim and one of them showed the victim a gun while the other demanded the victim’s money. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet, which contained cash and identification.

Stevens Square
+ Feb. 1, 6:35 p.m., E. 19th St. and 1st Ave.

Police responding to a disturbance call and after arriving at the location found a 38-year-old man being held a number of bystanders. Officers determined the man had attempted to rob a 25-year-old woman. The suspect was arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail on a felony robbery of person charge.

Tangletown
Feb. 7, 7:45 p.m., W. 47th St. and Pillsbury Ave.

Police arrested two suspects, a 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, after both were allegedly involved in a narcotics transaction. Officers transported both suspects to Hennepin County Jail where they were both booked on felony narcotics violations.

Whittier
Jan. 31, 6–6:50 p.m., E. Lake St. and Nicollet Ave.

Officers arrested a 53-year-old man for an alleged narcotics violation. The suspect had been found to be in possession of crack cocaine and was transported to Hennepin County Jail.

+ Feb. 2, 6:40 p.m., W. 29th St. and Pillsbury Ave.

Three unknown suspects robbed 24-year-old man at gunpoint. The victim’s girlfriend informed police that the suspects had stolen the victim’s car and all the property inside. The victim did not need to seek medical attention offered by police.

Feb. 8, 8:15 a.m.–5:15 p.m., 200 block 27th Ave E.

An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 26-year-old woman. The victim claims the suspect forced open her door and removed several items while she was away. Another apartment on the victim’s floor had been burglarized at the same time but the resident was not home when police arrived.
