City Council committee will discuss federal transportation project

Minneapolitans will have a chance tonight to learn about and weigh in on a federal project aimed at reducing congestion in the Twin Cities.

At a special City Council Public Works and Transportation Committee meeting, representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Council will discuss the Urban Partnership Agreement — a federally-funded program that will help implement bus rapid transit (BRT) on Interstate 35W and will use tolls in a lane shared with buses, according to the announcement.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the hospitality hall of St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. S.
