TANGLETOWN — The new Diamond Lake Road Bridge over Interstate 35W was to open as of Dec. 7, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reported.
Not all of the highway ramps leading on and off the bridge reopened immediately, but all were expected to open by Friday, Dec. 14.
At that point, freeway exit and entrance ramps from the 46th Street bridge will close. Demolition of that bridge, connecting Kingfield and South Minneapolis, was delayed until spring, MnDOT reported.
The old Diamond Lake Road Bridge was demolished in June as a part of the Crosstown reconstruction project involving construction work at and around the intersection of I-35W and Highway 62.
