Vegetarian cuisine expert Deborah Madison is speaking at the Linden Hills Co-op today from 3–5 p.m.
She will be signing and selling copies of her new books — the paperback release of “Vegetarian Suppers” and the 10th anniversary re-release of “Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone.”
“Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone” has been a strong seller. Madison said she wanted to write the equivalent of the vegetarian “Joy of Cooking” when she started working on the book more than a decade ago.
“I wanted the book to have a large scope and be open minded,” she said. Some of her favorite recipes from the book are Spanish-inspired vegetable stews.
Madison got her start in vegetarian cooking in the late 1960s when she lived in a Buddhist community in San Francisco.
The Linden Hills Co-op is at 2813 W. 43rd St.
