Three photographs that summarize the best of what professional photographer Richard Wong saw through his lens in the Linden Hills neighborhood this summer and fall are on display now at Augsburg College Student Art Gallery.
An opening reception for Wongs work and that of nine other photographers will take place at the gallery tonight from 3-7 p.m. Photos will be on display through Dec. 2.
The exhibit represents phase one of a two-year project called Whats New? organized by photography nonprofit OverExposure. The project pairs photographers with different neighborhood associations to document the changing demographics of areas throughout Minneapolis.
Phase one took place from July 1 to Oct. 31. New photographers and neighborhood groups will be paired up for the second phase, scheduled to begin next spring.
Linden Hills was the only Southwest neighborhood to take part in phase one of the project, which required a donation between $200 and $1,000 to participate. Each photographer received $400 to cover equipment and production costs.
