Editor’s note: Alleged crimes against persons (assault, rape, murder, etc.) will feature the + symbol. Note, this compilation of crime reports provides highlights of area criminal activity. It’s not intended to be a comprehensive overview of Southwest crime.

CARAG
+ Oct. 3, 9:15 p.m., W. 31st St. and Bryant Ave.
Four male suspects robbed three victims, a 23-year-old woman and two others, at gunpoint. The three victims were standing at a bus stop when the suspects approached them and held a black, short-barreled revolver to the 23-year-old victim’s head and demanded their money. The victims complied, and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

East Isles
+ Oct. 13, 9 a.m., W. 24th St. and Blaisdell Ave.
An unknown male robbed a 21-year-old woman. At the time of the robbery, the victim was walking with two young children and carrying a third when the suspect allegedly approached from behind and removed the victim’s wallet from the purse slung over the her shoulder. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 18- to 20-years-old, 5 feet 6 with a thin frame. He was wearing a black coat during the incident. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

+ Oct. 14, 10:15 p.m., W. 25th St. and Girard Ave.
Two male suspects robbed and assaulted a 31-year-old man. The suspect had allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, held him down, implied they had a gun and demanded he hand over his money. The loss from the robbery included cash, credit cards and a cell phone. The victim said his arm hurt from the assault but declined medical attention.

Fulton
Oct. 6, 5–6:30 p.m., W. 46th St. and Upton Ave.
Police were called regarding a theft of a 40-year-old woman’s vehicle. The victim told police that the suspect used the vehicle’s key to gain access and drive off with it.

Oct. 11, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., 4200 block of Sheridan Ave.
An unknown suspect(s) burglarized the residence of a 65-year-old woman. The victim told police that approximately $1,000 was stolen from inside her apartment.

Kenwood
Oct. 14, 4:30–9 p.m., W. 21st St. and Lake of the Isles Parkway
A 39-year-old man parked his vehicle legally on the street and, when he returned, discovered it missing. The victim told police that the keys may have been left inside with the doors unlocked at the time of the alleged theft.

Kingfield
Oct. 3, 7:15–9:15 p.m., 1st Ave. and 42nd Ave.
A 35-year-old woman walked into a police precinct to report that an unknown suspect(s) had stolen her vehicle. The victim told police her vehicle had been parked at a local park with her keys still inside and, when she returned, discovered it missing.

+ Oct. 5, 9:25 p.m., 100 block of E. 37th St.
An unknown number of suspects robbed a 35-year-old man at gunpoint. The victim had been in front of his residence when the suspects approached. The loss from the robbery included a cell phone and the victim’s car keys. Officers searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate them.

Linden Hills
Oct. 7, 10–11:59 p.m., 4400 block of Beard Ave.
An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 53-year-old man. The suspect allegedly gained access to the apartment by crawling through a bedroom window that is missing a screen. Once inside, the suspect completely ransacked the apartment before and removed various items.

Lowry Hill
Oct. 2, 3:10 a.m., 700 block of Douglas Ave.
A 51-year-old man picked up an unknown suspect he met in Loring Park and drove the suspect back to his apartment. Once there, the suspect stole the man’s keys and then proceeded to steal the man’s vehicle which was parked nearby.

Oct. 6, 8:30–10:30 p.m., 2000 block of Dupont Ave.
An unknown suspect(s) burglarized the residence of a 24-year-old man. The victim told police that the rear entrance to his apartment is old and in disrepair and can easily be opened. The victim’s bedroom, which is in the basement of the three-unit building, was unlocked and had items removed from inside.

Oct. 7, 4:34 p.m., Douglas Ave. and Logan Ave.
An officer observed a vehicle fail to signal before making a turn and decided to pull it over. After approaching the driver, a juvenile male, the officer discovered the suspect had a large amount of narcotics. The officer arrested the suspect for alleged felony narcotics violations with the intent to distribute.

+ Oct. 13, 11:50 a.m., Hennepin Ave. and east-bound I-94 ramp
A 53-year-old man told police he was with five acquaintances when a fight broke out between him and one of the acquaintances, known only as “El Mundo,” over the man’s refusal to hold a sign begging for money. The suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face and head several times before stealing the victim’s wallet, which allegedly contained $40. Officers responding to the incident reported that they did not see any visible signs of injury on the victim but reported that the victim was severely intoxicated that morning.

Lowry Hill East
+ Oct. 5, 12:10 a.m., W. 22nd St. and Bryant Ave.
Police arrested a 37-year-old suspect for allegedly assaulting a 46-year-old man and for violating a weapons ordinance. The suspect had allegedly pointed a gun at the victim’s head and threatened to kill him. Officers transported the suspect to Hennepin County Jail.

+ Oct. 9, 10:25 p.m., 2500 block of Emerson Ave.
An unidentified number of suspects robbed and assaulted a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman. The suspects had allegedly pushed the victims to the ground, punched and kicked them several times, and then stole the victims’ belongings. Both victims declined medical attention.

Between Oct. 10, 10:40 p.m., and Oct. 11, 4 a.m., 2600 block of Aldrich Ave.
Police officers executed a narcotics search warrant at the residence of a 45-year-old man. Officers recovered a marijuana-growing operation and arrested the suspect and transported him to Hennepin County Jail.

Oct. 12, 4:01–6 p.m., 2500 block of Lyndale Ave.
Police arrested two men, a 25-year-old and a 31-year-old, for alleged narcotics violations.
The two suspects were arrested after allegedly delivering what is described as a large, though unspecified, amount of crystal methamphetamine. Both suspects were transported and booked at Hennepin County Jail.

Oct. 15, 4-9 p.m., 2500 block of Lyndale Ave.
Police arrested a 36-year-old man for an alleged narcotics violation. The suspect was transported and booked at Hennepin County Jail. Two other unidentified suspects involved in the incident were released at the scene.

Lyndale
+ Oct. 2, 1:30–2 a.m., 3200 block of Blaisdell Ave.
Officers were dispatched to Abbott Northwestern Hospital to meet a 36-year-old man who had been the victim of an assault. The victim claimed that five unknown suspects assaulted him but said he would be able to later identify them if needed. The extent of the victim’s injuries is unspecified.

Lynnhurst
Oct. 11, 12:30–6:30 a.m., 4800 block of Bryant Ave.
An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 43-year-old woman. The suspect allegedly removed a screen and opened an unlocked window in order to gain access to the place.

Stevens Square
Oct. 2, 7:30 a.m.–4:15 p.m., E. 17th St. and 3rd Ave.
A 31-year-old man parked his vehicle on the street while he went to work. When he returned later in the day, he discovered an unknown suspect(s) had stolen the vehicle. The victim claims he has the only set of keys to the vehicle.

+ Oct. 5, 5:05 p.m., E. 19th St. and 2nd Ave.
An unknown suspect robbed two men, a 57-year-old and a 34-year-old. The suspect allegedly offered to sell the men some crack cocaine and, when they refused, the suspect robbed them. The suspect then got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Oct. 11, 11:48 p.m., 1900 block of 1st Ave.
Officers attempted to stop a 28-year-old man riding a bicycle when the suspect attempted to flee on foot. The officers were eventually able to detain the suspect by force, as he needed to be treated by Hennepin County Medical Center medics at the scene. The suspect was later transported to Hennepin County Jail and booked for an unidentified narcotics violation.

Whittier
+ Oct. 2, 10:20–11 p.m., 2200 block of Pleasant Ave.
Four or five unknown male suspects robbed and assaulted a 20-year-man at gunpoint. The victim had been walking up to a residence when the suspects jumped him and began to kick and punch him in the head. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim’s head and demanded his property before they fled the scene on foot. The victim refused any medical attention.
Oct. 3, 4:29 p.m., 2200 block of 3rd Ave.
Police arrested a 45-year-old man for alleged narcotics violations and for having an unidentified felony warrant. A second suspect, a 52-year-old man, received citations for drug paraphernalia and loitering and was released at the scene.

+ Oct. 4, 4:07 a.m., W. 22nd St. and Pleasant Ave.
A 21-year-old woman was walking home when three unknown male suspects stopped her. One of the suspects allegedly hit the victim over the head with a black handgun before stealing her purse and fleeing the scene on foot. The victim refused any medical attention.

+ Oct. 9, 1:49 a.m., 2800 block of Pleasant Ave.
An unknown number of suspects robbed and assaulted two women, a 30-year-old and a 24-year-old, at gunpoint. The suspects allegedly pistol-whipped the victim in the back of their heads. The victims needed to be transported to Hennepin County Medical Center via ambulance to receive treatment for minor to moderate head wounds.

Oct. 11, 2:50 p.m., 2000 block of Blaisdell Ave.
Police arrested a 53-year-old man and a 39-year-old man for various narcotics violations. The 39-year-old suspect was transported and booked at Hennepin County Jail, while the 53-year-old suspect received a citation and released at the scene.

Oct. 12, 10:01 p.m., W. 22nd St. and Blaisdell Ave.
A plainclothes officer observed the passenger of a vehicle litter and notified a squad car in the area. The officers in the squad car pulled over the suspected vehicle and observed crack cocaine in the driver’s possession. The suspect was arrested and booked at Hennepin County Jail.

Tangletown
Between Oct. 7, 10 p.m., and Oct. 8, 8:30 a.m., 200 block of W. 52nd St.
A 53-year-old man parked his vehicle in the driveway of his home overnight. The next morning, the victim discovered an unknown suspect(s) had taken the vehicle sometime during the night. The victim said he still has possession of the keys and that a fresh dent had been made in another vehicle he owns, which had been parked next to the stolen vehicle, and believes the suspect(s) smashed into it.
