“All that I Am,” a diverse collection of fine art by Faye Buffington, opens Friday, August 31 at Steven’s Square Center for the Arts, 1905 3rd Ave. S.
Buffington’s exhibit features an array of drawings and paintings that incorporate the human figure with nature and use a variety of basic shapes, patterns, textures, colors, and rhythmic movements. Much of Buffington’s work in this exhibit is representational and uses allegory and metaphor as a means of expression. Her exhibition will run at Steven’s Square through September 23.
Buffington stated in a press release, “Through my art, I am developing an awareness and an awakening of who I am as a person. One of the purposes of my art is to capture the world around me and the human condition.”
An opening reception will be held on Friday at Steven’s Square from 7 p.m.–11 p.m. to celebrate the commencement of Buffington’s exhibit. The reception will feature music and refreshments and is free of charge.
