The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has issued updates for the Crosstown reconstruction project.
MnDOT advises motorists that construction on the I-35W bridge over Minnehaha Creek and Minnehaha Parkway continues, with the Parkway to remain closed for two more weeks.
The next I-35W closure is planned for the weekend of Sept. 7, weather permitting. It would be closed from Friday night until early Monday morning that weekend in order for demolition of the 50th St. bridge to take place, as well as other projects in the area.
Nighttime lane closures on I-35W and Highway 62 will continue between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. most nights.
Street closure: 62nd Street near Wentworth Avenue South, Nicollet Avenue South and 1st Avenue South. In order for a new ramp along southbound I-35W to be constructed, the noted sections of 62nd Street will be closed for up to a year.
