July 31, 4–6 p.m., 20 block of Park Lane

A 24-year-old woman was taking care of a vehicle belonging to a 52-year-old woman while the latter was out of town. The car-sitter held a house party while car-sitting and during that time an unknown party guest is suspected to have stolen the car. The 24-year-old woman believed that someone was playing a trick on her and waited several days before reporting the theft.

Aug. 1, 1:05 p.m., 2000 block of Thomas Ave.

A 31-year-old man left his vehicle parked while unloading tools into a residence. When he returned, he discovered the vehicle missing. The victim admits that he left his keys sitting on the front seat of the vehicle while unloading the tools. The vehicle is described as a white dodge truck with a green topper. There are no suspects.


Aug. 2, 9 a.m.–7 p.m., 300 block of W. 49th St.

A 45-year-old man returned home to discover that an unknown suspect had kicked in his front door. After going inside, the suspect allegedly removed two Apple laptops, two entertainment systems, a digital camera and other high-end electronic equipment. The victim went to neighbors’ homes to see if they had witnessed anything, but all had either been out of town or at work during the robbery.

Aug. 4, 1–10 a.m., address not available

A 45-year-old man parked his vehicle on the street and, when he returned in the morning, discovered it missing. Another vehicle, which had been stolen from an unidentified location the previous night, had been left nearby.

+ Aug. 5, 12:01 a.m., E. 37th St. and Nicollet Ave.

Unknown number suspects robbed a 20-year-old woman at gunpoint. The suspect(s) fled the scene.

Linden Hills

Between Aug. 3, 11 p.m., and Aug. 4, 3 a.m., 3700 block of Abbott Ave.

A 21-year-old man parked his vehicle on the street and discovered it missing early the next morning. The victim still has possession of the keys and there are no suspects.

Lowry Hill

Between Aug. 4, 10:45 p.m., and Aug. 5, 915 a.m., 1700 block of Humboldt Ave.

An unknown suspect burglarized the residence of a 68-year-old woman. The suspect allegedly cut a screen window in order to gain access while the victim slept. Once inside, the suspect removed the victim’s purse from the kitchen floor and exited out the same window. The purse contained credit cards, ID, Social Security card and various other items.


July 31, 5:14–5:32 a.m., W. 34th St. and Blaisdell Ave.

Police officers arrested two men on suspicion of burglary and robbery charges. The suspects, a 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, were booked at Hennepin County Jail.

Aug. 4, 1:35 a.m., 3400 block of Garfield Ave.

A 32-year-old man parked his vehicle in front of his residence during the night. At the above time, the victim heard a car door slam and then a car speed off. The victim looked outside to discover that his vehicle was missing. There are no suspects.

Aug. 4, 4:52 a.m., W. 31st St. and Grand Ave.

Police officers arrested a 24-year-old man for suspected narcotics activity. Officers located a bag of suspected crack cocaine in the suspect’s possession, which was confiscated along with $131 in cash. The suspect was transported to Hennepin County Jail.


Between Aug. 5, 6 p.m., and Aug. 6, 7:45 a.m., 5000 Belmont Ave.

A 20-year-old woman parked her vehicle on the street in front of her residence overnight. When she woke up the next morning, she found that the car was missing. The victim told police that she still has possession of all of the keys to the vehicle and it had been locked at the time. There are no suspects.


July 31, 8:30 a.m., 15 W. 22nd St.

A 40-year-old man informed police that a prostitute he had picked up and allowed into his apartment had allegedly stolen his ID card. The victim had been sleeping during the theft and the ID card had been in his pants pocket, which he was not wearing at the time. Victim told police that he could not identify the suspect and has no information about her.

+ Aug. 1, 1:25 a.m., W. 28th St. and Pillsbury Ave.

Three unidentified male suspects allegedly robbed and assaulted a 51-year-old man. The suspects stole an unknown amount of money and items from the victim. The victim is described as being extremely intoxicated at the time of the robbery and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center via ambulance for treatment.

Aug. 1, 8:15–9:30 p.m., 26 W. 22nd St.

A 34-year-old woman had her vehicle parked in front of her apartment complex when an unknown suspect stole it. The victim talked with her neighbors to see if they had witnessed any suspicious activity; they had not. The victim still has possession of the keys.

+ Aug. 2, 11:15 p.m., 2200 block of Pleasant Ave.

Two suspects allegedly robbed two victims, a 23-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, at gunpoint. The loss from the robbery included wallets, cash and credit cards. The victims described the first suspect as being a black male, approximately 5 feet 10, light build with short hair and a blue bandana over his face. This suspect had possession of a small black revolver. The second suspect is described as approximately 6 feet 3, medium build with short black hair and a blue bandana covering his face as well. Both suspect fled the scene on foot.

Between Aug. 4, noon, and Aug. 5, 9 a.m., 2700 block of Blaisdell Ave.

A 62-year-old man invited a woman, whom he admitted had been a prostitute, into his residence. The next day when he woke, he discovered that the suspect had allegedly stolen his wallet sometime during the night.

Aug. 5, 5:20 a.m.–2:30 p.m., W. Franklin Ave. and Pillsbury Ave.

A 38-year-old man parked his vehicle on the street and, when he returned, discovered it missing. The victim observed shattered glass on the ground in the vicinity of where the vehicle had been parked. He told police that the vehicle had been locked and he had the key in his possession. There are no suspects.

Aug. 6, 2:50–3:05 p.m., W. Lake St. and Pillsbury Ave.

Police officers arrested two suspects, a 22-year-old man and a juvenile male, for suspected narcotics activity. The 22-year-old suspect had a small amount of marijuana in his possession at the time of the arrest. Both suspects received citations and were released at the scene.

Between July 25, 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., 5539 Richmond Ct.

A 40-year-old male parked his car in front of his house. His car was left unlocked and was entered while the man slept. The unknown suspect rifled through his belongings, taking a laptop and several other items. The other items were discarded and later found in an alley across the street. These were returned to the man. The laptop, however, has not been found.


July 25, 8:00–9:00 p.m., East Calhoun Parkway by 32nd St.
A 20-year-old male and a 21-year-old female parked their car on West Calhoun Parkway while they walked around Lake Calhoun. During their walk, the female received a phone call from her mother stating that her credit card was being charged for purchases all over Bloomington. The two then returned to their car to find the front passenger window knocked out and their belongings stolen.


Between July 26, 12 p.m. and July 27, 8 a.m., 5629 Logan Ave. S.
A 58-year-old male parked his car in the alley driveway of 5629 Logan Ave. S. When he returned to his car in the morning, he discovered that the catalytic converter had been cut out from underneath the vehicle.


July 25, 12:30–6 a.m., 2125 Kenwood Parkway
Unknown suspects entered the home and garage of a 66-year-old woman, taking, among other things, a vehicle. The suspects broke into the house by cutting through the screen of an open window.


Between July 27, 2:30 p.m. and July 28, 12 a.m., 3918 Stevens Ave. S.
A 35-year-old female parked her car on Stevens Ave. and returned to find the driver’s side-window broken. The stereo was taken from her car.

Lowry Hill

July 24, 5:05–5:25 p.m., 726 Vineland Place
While on patrol, a police officer noticed a 41-year-old man in possession of what he suspected to be marijuana. When approached by the officer, the suspect placed the marijuana in his back pocket. Liquor was also observed in the suspect’s backpack. He was given a citation and released at the scene. The liquor and marijuana were confiscated and inventoried as evidence.

Between July 26, 9:30 p.m. and July 27 12:20 a.m., 2112 Hennepin Ave. S.
A 25-year-old female’s bicycle was locked to the bike rack on the trunk of her vehicle. When she returned to her car, she found the bike gone. There are no suspects at this time.

Lowry Hill East

July 25, 5:40 p.m. 2900 Bryant Ave. S.
A 26-year-old female was sitting in her apartment when she heard the sound of squealing tires coming from her parking lot. She looked out her window and saw an unidentified person driving her car eastbound on 29th St. from Colfax Ave.


Between July 25, 9 p.m. and July 26, 6 a.m., 5320 Irving Ave. S.
A 40-year-old female parked her car on the street in front of her home and returned in the morning to find the car missing. The vehicle was later found a short distance away from the victim’s home. The car had been entered by prying the front passenger window. The ignition was peeled, and the vehicle’s computer was removed.

July 26, 6–7:41 a.m., 5114 Irving Ave. S.
A 40-year-old woman was alerted by neighbors that they had found her stolen vehicle. The vehicle was abandoned in an alley just a few blocks from the location from which it was originally taken. The passenger window of the vehicle had been pried open and the ignition peeled. Damage was also done to the floor area. The carpet there was ripped up, and the computer housing was opened and stolen.


+ July 29, 9:53–10 p.m., Grand Ave. S. and W. Lake St.
Officers arrested a 23-year-old female after they witnessed her fighting on the street with a 58-year-old male. The arrestee had struck the man in the head with a glass bottle, leaving a cut above the man’s eye. The man was checked out by paramedics and refused medical attention. The woman was booked at Hennepin County Jail for assault.


+ July 25, 1:25–2:25 a.m., 115 E. 29th St.
Officers received a report of unknown trouble and were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found a 15-year-old female who stated that she had been attacked and strangled by a stranger. The suspect was gone upon arrival and the victim was transported to her home.

July 25, 12:18–12:48 p.m., 2124 Garfield Ave. S.
The suspect entered a business without permission and removed the money from two coin-operated laundry machines. The incident was recorded on video

Between July 27, 4:30 p.m. and July 28, 9 a.m., 1st Ave S. and E. 22nd St.
A 26-year-old male left his vehicle legally parked at the intersection of 1st Ave. S. and E. 22nd St. When he returned to his vehicle in the morning, the vehicle was gone. The doors had been locked and the man was the only person with a set of keys to the car. Police checked the ground but found no broken glass. There are no suspects at the time.
