Interim Superintendent Bill Green lauded her work for the school district.
“She is well known and respected within the district and brings to the table a wealth of knowledge in communications strategies, school marketing and relationship building with our varied communities,” he said in a prepared statement.
As communications director, Turner said she would continue to leverage already intact community relationships. “Reaching out to parents and those who support our schools will be a key strategy as we look toward marketing our schools as schools of choice,” she said.
Turner, a St. Paul native, has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree in public administration from Metropolitan State University. For more information about Minneapolis Public Schools, call 668-0001 or check out www.mpls.k12.mn.us
