East Isles Residents Association (EIRA) Membership Chair Rachel Winckler urged residents to get involved in their neighborhood and help contribute to a thriving community at the Nov. 15 meeting.
Winckler asked those who attended to consider their ideas for events or projects that they could instigate. She suggested that initiatives could involve as little or as much commitment as participants want.
Offering some inspiration for involvement, she said that any undertaking could provide teaching and learning opportunities – whether it was a service or recreational activity. No matter what, projects add to the quality of life in the neighborhood.
Some examples of activities include planning a poker tournament, bringing soup to sick residents, hosting movies-with-munchies events or trying out a yoga class in a group.
Winckler encouraged anyone interested to check in with her and other EIRA officials for support and guidance.
