The Twin Cities Marathon will run through Southwest on Sunday, Oct. 2. Family events will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, and a 10-kilometer run will take place the next day, before the marathon.
The marathon starts at the Metrodome at 8 a.m. The course takes runners past the Chain of Lakes in Southwest, then into Southeast Minneapolis before heading to St. Paul, where the race ends at the State Capitol.
The Sunday 10K run also starts in downtown Minneapolis at 7:10 a.m., but it takes runners directly to the State Capitol in St. Paul, bypassing Southwest.
A variety of kid and family events will take place on Saturday in St. Paul, including a 5K run/walk and a Diaper Dash.
