City staff has formed a steering committee to develop a Midtown Greenway land use redevelopment plan. Senior City Planner Beth Elliot said the group would develop a master plan to guide development along the trench running just north of 29th Street.
She said the group had an initial meeting June 16 and will host four public meetings to solicit community input. The first is scheduled for Monday, July 18, 6 p.m., at Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Ave. S.
Members of the steering committee include Park Board, Hennepin County and city transportation staff, plus members of the Midtown Greenway Coalition.
The city hired Short Elliot Hendrickson (SEH) as consultants to work with the group on the development plan.
According to SEH's project schedule, public input will be the group's focus throughout the summer, with an October public review of a draft plan. The final plan is scheduled to be complete in November.
