Now that the first part of the 190-unit Urban Village is nearly complete, the developer of the next part of the Wedge project has tweaked his design and layout.
Developer Ross Fefercorn will redevelop the 2800 block between Aldrich and Bryant avenues. In January, he presented plans to the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association to increase loft units from 58 to 71, making smaller, more affordable units. (The project also has 54 townhomes.)
He would also move the building’s traffic entrance to West 28th Street instead of Aldrich Avenue. In addition, he will add one single-family or duplex unit on 28th.
The Wedge neighborhood board voted to recommend that the Planning Commission and City Council approve the changes.
The project, eight years in the making, is being built along the Midtown Greenway’s north edge between Aldrich to Dupont avenues on the 2800 block.
Tenants will move in early this year to the Midtown Lofts, 72 condos between Bryant and Colfax avenues. The project’s final part will be built along the 2800 block of Colfax. However, construction is not scheduled to begin for a few years.
