GED scholarship fund set up to honor former School Board member

The Minneapolis Adult Basic Education Program has established the Ross Taylor GED Scholarship Fund to honor Taylor, a recently retired Minneapolis School Board member and former Minneapolis public-school math teacher.

This fund will be used to assist adult learners in the community who do not have the means to pay the GED testing fee, according to a news release from the program. Taylor supported adult basic education during his Board tenure and was "a fixture" at graduations.

For more information on the scholarship fund, contact the Minneapolis Adult Basic Educations office at 668-3800 or visit the Web site at commed.mpls.k12.mn.us/ABE. Fund donations are being accepted by Achieve!Minneapolis 111 3rd Ave. S., Suite 5, Minneapolis, MN 55401.
