Everyone harbors a secret dream of getting up on stage in the bright lights in front of a crowd of adoring fans. Not everyone ever gets that chance, however.
The Fulton Neighborhood Association is going to give residents of the neighborhood their opportunity to strut their showbiz gifts on Sept. 18 at the Fulton Fall Festival Talent Show as part of their annual festival. The deadline for entries is Aug. 15.
If you can sing; dance; juggle; perform magic tricks; tell a good, clean joke (remember, this is a family affair); or possess other talents your neighbors should experience, this talent show is for you.
Rae Ann Vandeputte, chairperson of the Fulton Neighborhood Association’s Community Engagement Committee said people of all ages are invited to perform, and there’s no entry fee. "We’re trying to get more people involved in the neighborhood and give more exposure to the neighborhood," she said. "There’s a lot of talent in Southwest. A lot of the talent is just private talent, in terms of people just aren’t big-time singers or big-time band-players, so we’d like to give them exposure. We know there’s more talent out there than people know really know about."
The festival and talent show will be held in the parking lot of Lake Harriet School’s upper campus, 4912 Vincent Ave. S.
