CVS Pharmacy has purchased the land on the southeast corner of Franklin and Nicollet avenues with plans to build a four-story building with 54 condominium units, a 13,000-square-foot CVS pharmacy and two additional retail spaces. A SuperAmerica gas station and the Log Cabin Flower Shop currently occupy the site
Dean Dovolis of DJR Architecture said the proposal has received an enthusiastic response from area businesses and neighbors.
The site, whose footprint will be about 20,000 square feet, sits across Nicollet from the Greenleaf Lofts currently under construction. The Minneapolis Planning Commission and City Council still must approve the CVS development. The chain expects groundbreaking as soon as this fall.
