The City Council is taking applications to fill a vacancy in the 11-member Heritage Preservation Commission.
The Council seeks applicants with demonstrated interest, knowledge, ability or expertise in historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization, archeology, urban planning or architecture. Applications are available at the City Clerk's office, Room 304, City Hall, 350 S. 5th St.
The application deadline is Sept. 12. The appointment will fill out the final year of a three-year term.
The Heritage Preservation Commission's duties include evaluating the architectural and historical significance of buildings and districts, and recommending designation of local landmarks.
