Minneapolis police are asking for the public's help in catching the person who lit a raccoon on fire at the intersection of West 27th Street and Hennepin Avenue, early in the morning of June 20.
The fire department was called to put out the fire, said Sgt. Sean McKenna, arson investigator. An officer found a wooden stick with a burned rag attached nearby.
Police responded to a call around 5:33 a.m. that an "unidentified suspect was setting raccoons and other animals on fire," the police report said.
"It's sick," McKenna said. "By the sounds of this, the person is obviously on foot. They have to live in or frequent the 27th and Hennepin area."
Police have no suspect information. Anyone who has information is asked to call McKenna at 673-3389.
