The Windom Community Council approved the city's plans to redesign a city garage site at Harriet Avenue and 60th Street.
Architect Michael Schrock said the project should screen the neighborhood from the site. The project includes set-backs from the street and peripheral renovations to allow for more green space. A chain-link fence will be removed and replaced with a new rock-face block fence. A sidewalk will also be added along the street with room for a planting strip and extra greenery.
The city budget for the improvement project is $150,000. Schrock said the city has not set deadlines but predicts construction will start in June.
