Windom creates a new Lake Mead

There aren't many bodies of water within the city of Minneapolis that remain unnamed, and now there's one fewer.

The Windom Community Council plans to honor now-retired City Council Member Dor Mead by naming the new holding pond at 60th St. and I-35W Lake Mead in her honor. A ceremony recognizing Mead will take place at the Windom neighborhood's next regular meeting, Thursday June 13, 7 p.m. at the Windom Community Center.

Mead represented the city's 11th Ward from 1994 to 2001.
