The Friends of Barbara Schneider are holding a march Wednesday June 12 to commemorate the second anniversary of her death.
The march starts at the statue of Thomas Lowry at West 24th Street and Hennepin Avenue, near Schneider's synagogue, Temple Israel. It ends at her former apartment near West 31st Street and Hennepin.
Police shot Schneider in her apartment, after what began as a noise complaint spiraled out of control. Schneider suffered from mental illness and had threatened police.
The Friends of Barbara Schneider formed to help educate police about mental illness.
