The Charles Horn Peace Park and Youth Farm Garden will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday June 24, starting with a 6 p.m. reception, at 115 W. 31st St.
The annual meetings of the Lyndale Neighborhood Association and the Lyndale Neighborhood Development Corporation will follow at 7 p.m.
The neighborhood association, backed by the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, supported the Youth Farm & Market Project and residents at Charles Horn Terrace working together to create the park and garden space. The celebration culminates nine years of work.
"In our garden, you will see youth and seniors tilling the soil together, recent immigrants working alongside long-term African American and Anglo members of the community, and public housing residents cherishing this rare and vital patch of green space," the invitation said.
