It’s a sure sign of summer when Southwest residents start peddling personal items out of their garages and yards. Several neighborhoods will host annual garage sales later this month and in June. Here’s a snapshot of area garage sales and registration information.
The Armatage Neighborhood Association’s annual garage sale will span two days this summer, Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sale locator maps will be available at the Armatage Park building, 2500 W. 57th St.
The Armatage Community and Montessori School PTA will host its “Foster’s Garage Sale” separately on Friday, May 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale, to be held at Armatage Community School at 2501 W. 56th St., will benefit the schools’ joint PTA. A $3 fee will be charged at the door.
To register for the ANA sale and receive a sale-identification yard sign, call the ANA office at 668-3206; to register for the Armatage/Montessori School sale, contact Chris Blumenfeld, at 922-0060 or at [email protected].
Calhoun Area Residents Action Group (CARAG)
The CARAG neighborhood, bordered by Hennepin and Lyndale avenues and Lake and 36th streets, will hold its neighborhood sale on Saturday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maps will be available at participating sales. For more information, call 822-3330.
East Calhoun Community Organization (ECCO)
ECCO is holding its 34th annual “super sale” on Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will feature more than 70 garage and yard sales throughout the neighborhood. The ECCO neighborhood is bordered by Lake Street, 36th Street, Hennepin Avenue and East Calhoun Parkway. For more information, call 824-9200.
The East Harriet neighborhood garage sale will be held May 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maps of participating sales will be available at each site. To register, call the East Harriet Farmstead Neighborhood Association at 824-9350.
The Kenny Neighborhood Association will hold its annual garage sale on Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is May 28. Maps of the sales will be available at participating sites.
To host a sale, send your address and a check payable to KNA for $8 to KNA Garage Sales, 5516 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55419 by May 22. You may also list key items you will have for inclusion in the maps (i.e. household, baby items/girls clothes). The Linden Hills Neighborhood garage sale will take place Saturday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maps will be available in front of the Great Harvest Bread Store on May 20, as well as at all registered sale sites. They are also online at www.lindenhills.org. Registration ends May 12.
