What are you thankful for?

We’re extending the deadline for our annual "Thank You" issue.

If you haven’t already, please take a minute and send us your notes of gratitude highlighting what you are thankful for in the community. Whether it’s the next-door neighbor who often drops by with a dish to share, or an especially kind barista at the neighborhood coffee shop, share with Journal readers your gratitude for people who make Southwest such a wonderful place to live and work.

The new deadline for these special tributes is Dec. 17.

We will print these notes in our final issue of the year — the Dec. 29–Jan. 11 Southwest Journal.

Again, here are the rules for our "Thank You" feature:

• The "thankee" must live, work or do their good in Southwest — the area between France Avenue South and I-35W, the Crosstown Highway and I-94 and I-394 (plus the northern half of the Bryn Mawr neighborhood).

• The "good works" don’t have to be extraordinary, just good.

• The nomination must be a maximum of 250 words.

• Photos of the person or persons you’re thanking are much appreciated.

You can e-mail  your "thank you" tributes to [email protected], fax them to 825-0929, or send a letter to Thank Yous, Southwest Journal, 1115 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55403. Please include your name, address and phone number, and your neighborhood.
