A plan is taking shape to replace the Beek’s Pizza building gutted by fire last year.

Diamond Lake Rental owner Bill Graham said he is proposing a two-story structure with retail on the ground floor and apartments above.

He said the future retailers are not finalized, but they would not likely include Beek’s. Graham said he has interest from several retailers, including a high-end bike shop. Diamond Lake Rental would likely have an office as well.

Four apartments would be close to 2,000 square feet apiece.

Graham said the project is in the midst of the city approval process, and he hopes to start construction as soon as possible.
