Bar shooting near Lake and Blaisdell leaves one dead

A shooting at a bar in the 100 block of West Lake Street early this morning has left a 51-year-old man dead and another person wounded.

The shooting happened at 12:30 a.m. A Minneapolis Police Department press release says it happened at a bar, but does not name the bar. The only bar in the 100 block of West Lake Street is Champions Sports Bar and Grill.

Police don’t have anyone in custody in connection with the incident. Homicide investigators are assigned to the case.

The man who died survived at Hennepin County Medical Center until 7:30 a.m., according to the release. The second victim’s gunshot wound is non-life threatening.
