Paramedics transported a 32-year-old man to the hospital Sunday night with a gunshot wound to the torso. A suspect or suspects shot the man at the 3000 block of Lyndale Avenue South and fled in a vehicle shortly before 11 p.m., police said. Police arrived to find the victim in the street, and said the injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
Sgt. Catherine Michal said the incident involved two groups of people who confronted each other in an altercation elsewhere earlier in the night.
Police are investigating the incident and haven’t made any arrests. Michal said she could not say if the incident was gang-related.
“The general public is not at risk,” she said. “The suspects were shooting at people they wanted to assault.”
