The Journal and Southwest Journal are seeking summer news interns. Our internship program provides the opportunity for aspiring journalists to obtain experience reporting and writing about everything from policy issues in City Hall to arts and entertainment scenes of Minneapolis for our two biweekly newspapers. In addition to conducting interviews and writing stories (both for our online and print editions), interns also can gain experience in photography, data visualization and more. This internship is geared toward hands-on experience. Interns essentially fill the same role as our reporters and spend their entire time here reporting and writing. Internships are unpaid. Hours are flexible, though a minimum of 10 hours per week is preferred. It is preferred that interns receive course credit for the internship. To apply, e-mail a resume, cover letter and three of your best clips to Eric Best (Assistant Editor) at email@example.com.
